The Israel National Council for the Child Team
The NCC staff operates on a foundation of passion, creativity, energy and flexibility. These characteristics have helped the NCC to continually evolve, to learn from the challenges and to change direction at any moment in the struggle to safeguard Israel's children, promote their rights and create change in policy and practice.
The NCC has a staff of 15 staff members from a variety of professions and is strongly supported in its work by tens of volunteers, students and National Service women. The 17-member Board of Directors, all senior professionals from different fields, volunteers to serve the National Council for the Child.
Dr. Yitzhak Kadman, NCC Executive Director
Recognized as Israel's foremost expert on the subject of children's rights, Dr. Kadman has a Ph.D. from Heller School of Brandeis University, is a former lecturer at the Hebrew University and Ben Gurion University Schools of Social Work, and former president of the Israeli Association of Social Workers.
Dr. Kadman has held a large number of public positions including Board Member of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Executive Committee, Chairman of the National Forum of Organizations for Children, Chairman of the Israel Delegation to the United Nations General Assembly on the subject of Children’s Rights and advisor to the Knesset Special Committee on Child Abuse, and has been Executive Director of the NCC since 1986.
His leadership has enabled the Council to become a highly influential agency, whose voluntary and independent activity offers an important recourse to children seeking defense of their rights.
